Pretty, Happy, Funny, Real...End of Summer!

Downtown for our last summer outing...tail end of the Farmer's Market,
lunch at Coney Island, Main Street Books
and lastly fun at the Carrousel

The loft at the bookstore...neat little reading nook!

and look at the view out the window!

Another summer project...painting the hallway. Colleen and I plan to paint a
tree and hang pictures for a family tree! We'll see if we can get it done this fall.

We had a little reunion of our Pray and Play Mom's group from about 10 years ago.
It was prompted by the sudden death of one of our dear mom's husband this summer. In spite of the difficult circumstances we had a lovely visit. At one time there were probably 15 moms and
who knows how many kids in this group.

Produce from my garden...I brought this in, went to take a picture and of course thought...
Bob the tomato and Larry the cucumber!

We had a little family reunion with my dad's side of the family...for many years a rarity as my dad died when I was 12. While we were there my uncle brought out some pictures of my dad growing up and asked if I would like to have this picture. Definitely a HAPPY moment!
On the back of the photo it said Holy Thursday 1949!

John 1st day of Junior year!

First field trip of the year..Perry's Monument at Put-N-Bay on South Bass Island.

The monument

                                                          The view from the top.

We scooted around the island on a golf cart...fun...fun...fun!

                                                                The Thunder Bay River

Sisters

Blaze wants to go too!

Let the fishing begin!

                                                                The big boys!

First year in a long time that I got my fishing license...forgot how fun it is!

He looks like a natural doesn't he?

                                                                The fishing queen!

                                                           That fishing is hard work!

If they are not fishing... they are reading!

Nice contributions to the fish fry!

John and I went to town one afternoon and walked down by Lake Huron.

The annual trip up river...the girls were determined to get as far ahead of us as possible...only problem is we had a motor!

Thought this looked like a great album cover...we just need to think of a name for the band!

The four fishermen (oops men and women)!

The boys each caught a nice keeper small mouth bass. It was fun to watch each of them bring it in. The two boys personalities are so different and it was so obvious as they each pulled in their fish I don't think I will ever forget this day. Special memories for my mommy treasure box!

We are so blessed!

The group picture on our last day. Once again...we are so blessed!

Pretty, Happy, Fun, Real...A Few of My Favorite Things

We have had beautiful weather this week...after all the rain we have had I have gotten
in the habit of doing my exercise videos but I looked outside and asked myself
why would I want to be inside on a day like today... perfect day for a bike ride!

Gary had to work afternoons this week including Saturday :(
I purchased this little teapot windchime and thought wouldn't it be nice to make this room blue and yellow for the summer...so Saturday I whipped up these panels  and changed things around a bit. It makes me very happy! When I have some time I will have to share by hobby lobby story that took place the day I went to buy the material.

A up close view of the material I chose.

I have a habit of starting projects and not finishing them. Well I am proud to say I am making improvements in that area this summer. I purchased these jars for my shells from vacation and put these together one afternoon. This also makes me happy!

This week's adventure with teens...Zoombezi Bay!
Two words to describe my day...Lazy River

Hail damage :(

This week it is off to the cabin in Michigan...see you in 2 weeks!
