~CREATING~
I am so enjoying my Artist Way experiment. I have been thinking a lot about the point that God is the creator and we are created in his image and likeness and therefore we have been given the gift of creativity. For too many years I have felt incompetent when it comes to crafts. I have a vision and what I do fails to measure up to that and so many projects go unfinished or even never started. I will never forget my day in the museum when I decided to sketch out a copy of a piece of artwork on display and I made the decision to enjoy the process and not worry about the finished project. It was a life changing decision. The funny thing is I really like the finished project!
I had seen on Pintrest decorated envelopes and I thought "I should do that". As I was addressing a couple of birthday cards I decided to decorate the envelopes. I did remember to take pictures but it was after the addresses were on them so I don't want to post that here. Next time I will remember to take pictures before addressing. Here is the back of the envelope that went to my niece Samantha. It had multicolored bunting flags on the front. I also drew a tree on the envelope for my nephew Ben. It only took me about 20 minutes and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
~OUT MY WINDOW~
Another cold week and no school on Mon and Tues...10 days off school this year...1/2 of a month.
My feathered friends!
~END OF THE BOWLING SEASON~
The boys and girls bowling teams made it to districts which took place near Toledo. The boys were Friday night so Gary took 1/2 day off work and we took Thomas out of school early to go watch them bowl.
John had a really rough night at Districts. He bowled his lowest score of the year in the first game. None of the other boys bowled well. John sat the next 2 individual games. In the baker games he continued to struggle and my heart was breaking for him. He hung in there and in the last game did well. When he came up to bowl the very last time they had bowled 3 strikes in a row...I won't forget the look on his face as he got up to bowl....and he bowled a strike. I am glad I caught his smile!
.
Their last game!
We caught John as he was heading out to the bus to get a quick shot. Not the best but I am glad I have a shot of the 3 of us! Adam's mom made us all shirts to wear which was so sweet of her and Coleman's mom made the cheer spirit sticks.
