California Dream Trip
We took United Airline from Cleveland to San Fran (pictured) to Fresno. We arrived in Fresno around midnight CA time. Getting the rental car was super easy and then we were off the Fresno Airport Hampton for our first night.
Breakfast at the Hampton and then we were off to Monterey Beach. The drive over was fascinating. Lots of grape arbors and fruit trees and lots of dirt and not much green. We drove by the San Luis reservoir and it was huge and very pretty.
We arrived at the Monterey Hampton settled in and took a nice long walk to the beach and looped around back to the hotel. John suggested ice cream and found us a Baskin Robbins so we drove over and had dessert first and then made our way over to Cannery Row and had dinner at Louie Linguini's. It was a fun little place with pictures of "Louie" and lots of celebrities, ex. he and Shaq playing basketball and a marriage with Julia Roberts, Elizabeth Taylor and others with a comical description to go along with each picture.
It was really chilly and I ended up buying a velour jacket with an embroidered Lone Cypress in a beautiful teal color to keep me warm. We also bought caramel/chocolate covered apples. Our first full day ended early as we were all pretty tired.
Day 2 Point Lobos State Park
Point Lobos was our plan for our first full day in Monterey and it did not disappoint. We had fun climbing to some great vantage points and taking lots of pictures. We found some tide pools but since it was high tide we decided to come back later with Elle to explore.
