Pretty, Happy, Funny, Real...Old and New

Looking out my kitchen window on a snowy year's end.

 

 New Year's Eve at Grandpa's. I couldn't even guess how many years we have come together to eat Grandpa's delicious ribs, play 31, laugh, hug and wish each other well at midnight.  There were years with restless little ones, John's broken arm, one or another home with a flu bug, and teen agers with plans of their own. Somehow through it all the tradition, the fun, and the memories continue! 

 

 We decided at the last minute to go to the Columbus Zoo and catch the light display and see a few animals. It was a lovely brisk night and I had forgotten how the zoo all lit up has a magical feel to it. We picked up Elle and she went with us and inspired me with her excitement. After all those years of me constantly taking her picture she now thrills me with "hey mom, take my picture with...." Thank you God for these precious moments with family
