Pretty, Happy, Funny, Real...Winter and a Taste of Spring Indoors

Starting the day off with a beautiful sunrise!

Out my bedroom window..the snow after below 0 temps and 30 mph winds

John spotted these tulips on the clearance cart at Krogers...2 weeks of spring for $1.99

I also got a bouquet that had the most beautiful roses...also on the clearance cart!

It seems with Elle's busy schedule that time can get away from us without a visit so this year we are setting up one Sunday a month to go down and visit with her. Last month was the zoo. This month we were introduced to the North Market only a couple miles from her apartment. What a treasure! Just a sampling... Polish food, Vietnamese Food, Barbecue, Indian Food, Bubble Tea (tried this for the first time), Jenni's Ice Cream, a little stand with the most delicious fudge...a sweet lady from Cardington who shared with us what a wonderful experience she has had with her part time stand at the North Market. Special memories to tuck away in my mother's treasure box of memories. Next month we are hoping to visit the Franklin Park Conservatory.

We all were quite amused by the mashed potatoes.

Our friends the Starrs started a tradition a few years ago of each family member choosing a virtue for the year. We enjoyed a game night at their house a couple Sundays ago and joined in their family prayers. We were all given the opportunity to choose a virtue. Mine was the above. It has definitely made me think and while I initially wasn't sure this is what I should work on. God is showing me yes it is exactly a virtue I need to work on...just not in the way I originally thought.
Gary's virtue...hope. Thomas's...responsibility. John's...self respect.

                                                                 Last but not least

This is the winter of the arctic temps...this isn't the lowest it has been...it was -15 or something last week but I didn't think to take a picture.
Also I am really enjoying my new phone...it was time for a smart phone...my first app...The Divine Office. It sure makes it easy to pray the Liturgy of the Hours. I also just finished the usccb's 9 day novena for life app which appeared on my phone each morning at 7:00 am!
