A number of years ago I decided I would like to have a room that is bright, cheerful, and neat. When life is busy and other things take prority over the clean house, I keep this one room neat and tidy. Since we eat our family meals, pray our night prayers, play games, do lessons and I do my morning prayers in this room having it bright and tidy has been a blessing to our family and a source of peace for me .
I set up a table where I can look out the window and watch the comings and goings of my family, the birds, butterflies, hummingbirds, rabbits and the occasional turkey and deer, and the changing of the seasons. My laptop sat here until it died in the spring. I miss the convenience of having a laptop but until it can be replaced I am happy to have the PC that has a few quirks but does most of what I like to do. With the laptop gone I have moved from the family table to this little table for my prayer time. One of my summer goals has been to read the book The Little Oratory and to set up a prayer table as suggested in the book. I have been skim reading the book and listening to the podcasts at the following website until I finish my end of the school year clean and can give the project my full attention. http://www.elizabethfoss.com/reallearning/2014/06/towards-living-the-liturgical-year-at-home.html I am thinking this table will be a good place to begin.

That is a good place to begin! I think it's wonderful that you resolved to make what sounds like the busiest part of your house neat and tidy. Most people, if they try at all, keep the unused rooms neat and then accept chaos in the ones they actually live in.
Although it's hard to do at first, and of course you have to be flexible, it's worthwhile to do what you are doing.
I love your little oratory already!
God bless,
Leila
