The last few weeks have been so blessedly full. My primary focus has been on wrapping up the homeschooling year with Thomas. Thomas is signed up to attend Lexington High School in the fall. I have peace that at this point that is the plan but I don't have peace that is the best thing for him. Part of me feels that there is something else for him. I am trying to discern if that is because he is my last or because of who he is that he is supposed to be somewhere else. I am trusting that God will show us. He will be taking summer phys ed and I feel that may help us in discerning if Lexington is for him. Please pray for us that we will see clearly God's will.
Since it has been a busy couple of weeks I am going to start with yesterday and work backwards.
Earlier this week Gary leaned over and showed me a text. I literally started jumping up and down. 25 years ago we met Keith through the Big Brother program. We sponsored him as a couple. We have remained friends through the years. I remember when he was about 12 having a conversation with him about how when he was in his 20's we would be in our 40's and when he was in his 30's we would be in our 50's and so on. He thought it was cool that some day we would be adults together and here we are. He has had some bumps in the road which has been heartbreaking to watch but this week in a text I was able to see him holding the beautiful baby girl that God blessed him with. Keith and Courtney....congratulations and may God bless your family. It brings me to tears to think about...for as long as Keith has been an adult his desire was to be married and have a family!
Memorial Day...we had a picnic here with Granny and Papa, Grandpa Korte, Kathy and John, Sue her mom Barbara, Lily and Wil, Maureen, Larry, and Ben, Aunt Judy, Mr Welch, Colleen, Michelle, John, Thomas and Gary and I. The weather was beautiful and being surrounded by people I love made for a lovely day. When everyone left Gary, Michelle and I went to the cemetary to honor our veterans who have died and then drove out to Clear Fork to watch the sunset.
We celebrated Michael Starrs high school graduation.
It was a lovely party for a wonderful young man who plans to be a Marine and has persevered through his foot issues to be accepted and sworn in this spring with an entrance date of January 2015.
John and Thomas and I took a day in Columbus...1st college visit for John and then a stop at the Columbus Art Museum and then back to town in time for piano lessons.
One evening John called for me to come see something...there was a storm north of us and the sky was amazing...the four of us stood on the deck and watched for about 20 minutes
Gary and I celebrated our 26th anniversary...he got home from work late and so the 2 of us picked up chinese and went out to Clear Fork and ate and watched the sunset...it was perfect!
Thomas and I took another trip to the Cleveland Art Museum...this time with the Phillips. We also visited the Natural History Museum and made a quick stop at the Westside Market. Thank God for good friends and safe travels.
As May comes to a close I thank our Blessed Mother
for her continued prayers
and loving protection of me and my family.
Mary, Queen of heaven pray for us.
